Summer 2024

Dr. Nathan Mueller

Agriculture and food-supply sustainability

Dr. Devin Castendyke

The current state of Mining Reclamation and impacts on the Arkansas River.

The Collegiate Peaks Forum is gearing up for another exciting season of talks for the 2024 summer and fall (our 22nd season).

So far this season, we have scheduled two CPFS’s talk at the Salida Steam Plant.

On July 25th, Dr. Nathan Mueller will present a talk about agriculture and food-supply sustainability and in late August or early September, Dr. Devin Castendyk will present a talk about the current state of mining reclamation in our region and the proposed plan to revive a dormant mill for processing historic mine waste at the headwaters of the Arkansas River in Leadville.

As always, the number of speakers we invite to speak in our series is determined by your generation donations supporting CPFS.  Please consider donating to CPFS by clicking on the donation link at the top of this page.

Sincerely,

The Collegiate Peaks Forum Series Board

Butch Butler, Kelly Collins, Joanne Castendyk, and Greg Reed
